Mercury Legal will be showing its support for the British Association of Dermatologists’ annual Sun Awareness Week this May (6th – 12th May).
The annual event, which forms part of the BAD’s wider Sun Awareness campaign, running from April to September, has been set up to raise awareness of skin cancer. The campaign is overseen by the BAD’s Skin Cancer Prevention Committee, which comprises of leading medical professionals who have expertise in skin cancer, vitamin D and public health messaging.
Fiona Tinsley, Solicitor at Mercury Legal, who specialises in claims relating to sunbed negligence said: “It is really important for us to show our support for this campaign.
“The number of claims we receive relating to sunbed negligence are growing significantly. Sunbeds are becoming ever more popular and so, worryingly, are claims relating to the large number of negligent sunbed outlets.
“For some time now, we have been working to raise awareness of the dangers of sunbeds and we will be backing the BAD in their mission to do this, as well as the wider sun damage.”
