A former teacher has killed herself after undergoing cosmetic surgery to remove a mole from her face which left her in a “living hell”.

Victoria Meppen-Walter, 44, was found dead at her home after complaining that the cosmetic surgery left her with “burning flesh”.

She is believed to have taken an overdose of tablets and was found in a locked bedroom at her home in Rochdale several days after her death.

In a series of letters, Mrs Meppen-Walter spoke of how the surgery had left her with “dreadful” permanent facial deformities. She said it was so severe that people did not recognize her and blamed the operating surgeon for her death.

It is believed that Mrs Meppen-Walker was left with suspected nerve damage and she complained of a “regular stabbing pain” in her forehead. She spoke of how life had been made “impossible” for her and said she could not leave home.

A spokesman for Transform clinic said: “The treatment we provided in November 2011 was of a high standard and this has since been corroborated by other independent medical professionals including her own GP.

“Following treatment, we had extensive correspondence with Mrs Meppen-Walter.

“It was apparent her issues were deep rooted than with the actual treatment and care we provided.

“Patients’ concerns and after care are paramount to us and we are very saddened by this tragic news.”
