The Football Association has announced a campaign to educate football fans on the risks caused by taking pyrotechnics to football games.

A poll of 1,635 Premier League supporters found that 87% of supporters believed pyrotechnics such as smoke bombs pose a hazard at football games, with 86% worried for their safety.

The initiative by the Football Association will see adverts throughout Premier League and Football League grounds and also on official match day programmes and official club websites. The campaign features posters parodying sports chants as well as real-life illustrations of how pyrotechnics can cause serious problems at games..

Supporters risk going to jail and receiving a ban from games should they be found in possession of pyrotechnics at games.
