Every claim is unique and so it is always difficult to give an accurate time estimate of how long a case will take to reach its conclusion. How long your claim may take is dependent upon a number of factors including the seriousness of your injuries, how many Defendants are involved and their stance on liability, and whether or not you need rehabilitation to help you recover from your injuries.

At Russell Worth solicitors we do however appreciate that our clients like an indication at the outset of their case of how long it may take to settle. So after consultation with one of our expert firms of personal injury specialists, we have produced some time scales for example purposes only based upon their experiences.

Road traffic accident claims: Typically a whiplash type injury claim with a good prognosis approximately 3 to 6 months. Some cases can settle in a matter of weeks whilst others, especially those involving more serious injuries, can take longer.

Accident claims: Depending upon where the accident occurred and the seriousness of the injuries, approximately 6 to 12 months.

Industrial disease claims: Perhaps the hardest to estimate as often there is more than one Defendant involved, but with a one employer claim approximately 12 to 18 months if the company is still trading.

We have all heard stories of claims going on for years and years and whilst some do for a variety of reasons, as the figures above demonstrate it is very much the exception as opposed to the rule. The only way our personal injury solicitors can give you an accurate time scale for your case is if you contact us with details of your claim, so that we can tailor our advice to your specific circumstances.
