If you’ve been unfortunate enough to have sustained a scaffolding accident injury through no fault of your own then we can help you to make a claim and receive compensation for the suffering you’ve endured.

Scaffolding should safely support the structure of a building but it should also be secure enough to hold people and heavy machinery. You are entitled to make a claim if you have been injured through negligence in a scaffolding accident. The Claim Zone will:

  • Answer your questions about making a claim
  • Tell you how much compensation you can expect to receive
  • Do all of the form-filling for you
  • Keep you updated on the progress of your claim
  • Provide a No Win No Fee service
  • Ensure you keep 100% of your compensation

Worried about claiming against your employer?

Scaffolding must be constructed in accordance with safety procedures and construction firms should ensure that precautionary measures have been put in place to prevent accidents. If you are injured as a result of negligence your employers have not provided adequate duty of care. You shouldn’t worry about taking action against your place of work, they will be covered by insurance and by making a claim you could help reduce the risk of similar accidents happening in the future.

Accidents involving scaffolding don’t always just happen to those working with and around the scaffolding, sometimes those unlucky enough to be walking underneath can find themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Scaffolding related accidents are all too common with nearly 5,000 incidents being recorded in the UK last year alone and that is simply the ones we know about. It is impossible to say how many more injuries were sustained but not reported for a variety of different reasons. Common problems include:-

Insecure bracing

Planking snapping or giving way

Substandard materials being used

Slipping on wet planking

Items being dropped and striking those below

Safety procedures not being followed

Scaffold collapsing due to poor construction

Inexperienced or under qualified workers

The saddest part of all is that the majority of these incidents are easily preventable if experienced workers use the right materials and follow safety guidelines. Whilst some scaffold accidents can be relatively minor the possibility of serious injuries occurring is obvious for all to see. Sometime it is the scaffolders themselves who are involved in accidents but frequently it is other workers and tradesmen who suffer for the negligence of others. If you are an electrician, painter, etc and a job requires you to work on scaffold structures in order to perform your duties then of course you take a look at the structure to make sure it looks safe but ultimately you have to trust the professionalism of your fellow workers – sometimes this trust can be misplaced. Scaffolders themselves can only work with the tools they have been given, if they are working with old damaged piping or planks that their employers won’t replace accidents can happen that are out of their control and indeed they can be caught up in the middle of it.

Our panel of solicitors are experienced in dealing with all aspects of construction injuries including accidents either involving scaffold or where it was the primary cause of the incident.
