Woman seeks compensation for dental injury
17th February 2012
A woman who smashed her teeth after falling on an uneven pavement is seeking compensation.
The accident occurred whilst Paulina Cooper was walking down Tewkesbury High Street. She was using a new pedestrian crossing but tripped when on uneven paving on the other side, causing her to fall to the ground and damage four of her front teeth. The damage caused by the accident cost £400 in dental procedures to fix.
Mrs Cooper is arguing that the accident would not have happened if the council had not left the pavement in such a dangerous state for pedestrians and is now pursuing a claim for compensation. However, Gloucestershire Council claims that their highway safety inspection and repair regime is adequate.
