Man injures head in scaffolding fall

A man from Worcestershire has suffered a severe head injury after falling from scaffolding.

The victim, believed to be in his 20s was treated at the scene before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham for assessments and more treatment. The hospital were pre-warned about the serious nature of injury by a doctor accompanying the patient in the ambulance to provide emergency assistance.

The full extent of the injuries sustained and the circumstances surrounding the fall have not yet been revealed.

Accidents involving scaffolding, on average, injure over 4000 people and cause 50 deaths a year.
